From the East

Greetings Brethren:

Summer is now well behind us and things have begun to once again move at a much more hectic pace. In early September our newest Entered Apprentice's received more light in Masonry, courtesy of St. John's Lodge # 6. I thank WB James F. B. Wood and all of the Brothers of St. John's Lodge, for a fine performance and for sharing this great experience with our DeMolay's and newest Brothers of our lodge.

On Saturday evening Oct. 7th, the officers of Old Well Lodge will be traveling with our charter, through Grand Lodge dispensation, to Fidelity-St. John's Lodge # 3, in Fairfield, to perform a Master Mason Degree for our new Fellowcrafts. At which time, will also confer the same to two additional Brothers from St. John's Lodge # 6. It is indeed a wonderful site when Brethren work together in harmony and unity. I extenda special thank you to RW Brother James T. McWain, GJD, for his continued guidance and for helping us procure the needed dispensation for this degree.

We are coming down to the wire my Brothers, as the final quarter of this Masonic year turns the bend. I ask that each of us take some time to reflect on the months gone by; to seek solutions that will better enable us to grow further in our Masonic experience. I also ask that each of us tries his very best to live daily, by the tenets of our great fraternity.

It is very important that our lodges become main focal points in our lives. We should always be ready and willing to lend a hand to a distressed and a worthy Brother and to serve our youth, as well as our community in every way possible. It is most important, that we take the time to seriously contemplate the true meaning of the compasses. To rediscover in our hearts and to rededicate ourselves to the very meaning of true friendship, morality and brotherly love.

Soon my Brothers it will be time for us to elect a new Worshipful Master and Sr. Officers of our lodge. It is imperative that we make wise decisions; decisions which will allow our lodge to continue to flourish. Whatever the final outcome will be, we must make sure that our choices in fact, place our lodges' good and welfare, first and foremost. We must be entirely sure, that our decisions are based solely on their individuals abilities, their dedication to our craft and not merely for the sake of our own personal convenience.

I thank you all for your hard work and dedication, throughout the year. May God Bless you and yours, abundantly and always.

 Fraternally,

Chris S. Peters, WM
